Jean Hubert was sent at least twice to independent Congo, Africa and to date his date of deceased still unknown. Since the World War I took place in neutral Belgium, between 1914-1918, it did effect the family. Georges Jules Sindorff, the son of his brother François, Jean's cousin was killed at age 18 in combat at WW-1, and many unknown date of deceased within the family and possibly a half brother :Lourens may have given many complications in this powerful family. A million Belgium refugees flat to the Netherlands, a total of 5.5. million WW I death at allies and 4 million at centrals, including 600.000 Belgium death involving civilians, militaries of all nationalities, entrance in the military and colonial campaigns must have played part.

1906 - Watch maker living in Saint-Gilles (south of Brussels, Belgium)

Jean was a watchmaker in Brussels before leaving to Congo and may have worked at the jewelry shop, later a chain, taken over or set up by his father Frans, born Venlo the Netherlands Also Guillaume, his brother, was working expanding the shop into chain. Maybe Jean as well as Guillaume had their own shop as part of the family business.

Work as administrator brought Jean to Congo when "in 1908" a "free state" became Belgium Congo, in addition to church and companies that lead to prosperity, awareness but also violence and independent Congo.

🔎There is a reason to believe that Jean may have deceased in Congo or went to maybe an other African country, such as Nigeria, and may have settled there. The last record found on Jean is in a publication depart 30 July 1910 with Albertville to Congo;..1913-1917 as tax auditor,

1913 still in Congo:

1917 still in Congo
