Maria Jacoba Francisca Sindorff, in the family called Rie, was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Europe) on 4 June 1910, deceased 30 July 1988, being the third child, of her father Franciscus Raimond Henricus SINDORFF (1880-1952) and her mother Anna Maria HAGEMEIJER (1879-1970). Siblings were her older sisters Anna Hendrina Elisabeth Sindorff (1907-1992), Antoinette Caroline Maria Sindorff (1908-x) and younger brothers Karel Hendrik Raimond Sindorff (1911-1985) and Frans Hendrik Jacob Sindorff (1916-x) enlisted at N.R.O.-National Register Deceased or I.T.S. the International Tracing Mission or Service. A postcard from 1949, put up for sale in 2025, disclosed that Frans survived World War II.
The family lived during the time that the 1st World War, between 1914-1918 took place, even though the Netherlands was neutral, living so close to the Belgium border the family must have experience effects, and during the 2nd World War, between 1940-1945, the family has been affected and traumatized over more then one generation.

The grandfather of Rie, Karel Antoon Hubert Sindorff, was a tradesman in Sajet, a dull spun yarn, also written as boringjet, or boring, a yarn made from short wool fibers. First, a strongly twisted yarn is spun in the spinning mill. Due to the short fiber, the yarn must be strongly twisted to obtain sufficient strength.
At young age, this may have inspired Rie and others to set up Sindorff N.V., a factory in ladies- and children confection. The family may have invested his legacy in property and equipment as Sindorff N.V. was a limited company with more participants.

The tea spoon was a gift to Ingrid Bianca Sindorff, her great aunt, considered as the only material legacy to the family upon a family visit around 1986 at her residence in Amsterdam. During this visit the painting the "13 Linden" was proudly presented made by her father and lost to date. The tea spoon may have been a statement. As for loosing the painting to date is a regret for the family.
Around 2023 two dresses were found that were still in circulation as "high end vintage". The next door neighbor, of Jenny Elsayed - van Veenen of the online shop ShopForYou and trader who insisted to the gift of the white dress, bought the dress originally at Fashion house HB in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Jenny thanked for the flowers in stead very much.
HB being one of the many customers, it was said Sindorff N.V. produced for Chanel. In any case, Sindorff N.V. worked on the introduction of a size label, had a store on one of the most expensive shopping streets P.C. Hoofdstraat 85hs in Amsterdam and a workshop on Damrak 49 and in 1947 on Apollolaan 197III midden in Amsterdam.

Both her sister Annie, Anna Hendrina Elisabeth Sindorff and her husband Ab, Albertus Antonius Meijer worked at the company. During the war, Rie files for theft of her bicycle on 23 April 1943 at 10:55, 5 juli 1944 om 3:10 st.
On 20 August 2011 Aline Pennewaard published a story on Joods Monument, Jewish Monument, on Esther Wilhelmina (Stella) Arbeid (1924-1943) who, went to the Industrial school to become a seamstress and after graduation worked in a workshop on Damrak. Stella was transported to Westerbork, hiding at home, and sent on 25 may 1943 to Sobibor were she was gassed 3 days later and became 18 years old. Her brother Salomon survived. With Leo and Antoinette Arbeid, his son, it has been reconstructed that his aunt Stella may very likely worked at Sindorff N.V. as expropriation of Jewish fashion manufactures on Damrak already took place if still there. Stolpersteinen will be placed for her and her parents in September 2024.
